Book Discussion Group – November 29

Year of Wonders: A Novel of the Plague by Geraldine Brooks.

The gripping tale of courage and faith is set in the English village of Elym  in 1666. Anna Frith, the vicar’s maid, confronts the loss of her family, the disintegration of her community, and the lure of a dangerous and illicit love.  The death toll rises, people turn from prayers and herbal cures to sorcery and murderous witch-hunting,  and Anna emerges as an unlikely courageous heroine in the village’s desperate fight to save itself.
