Each August, the Library teams up with the Grafton Lakes State Park to hold a fundraising event to benefit our library. This year the 34th Annual Run For the Roses Race takes place on Sunday, August 11, 2019. The event consists of a USATF sanctioned 5K foot race, a 2.5 mile guided nature walk, and children’s 1 Mile Fun Run, at Grafton Lakes State Park.

|9 AM||5 K Race||Start Banner – Main Parking Lot|
|10 AM||Kids’ 1 Mile Fun Run||Start Main Parking Lot|
Although the event itself is very special, the main purpose of the day is to benefit the Grafton Community Library. The Run for the Roses is the main fund-raising event of the year and provides critical support for our library’s programming and materials collection.
Race sponsors are critical to the success of this fundraising event, and the Board of Trustees and the staff are grateful for the generosity of our sponsors. We consider our sponsors a part of our team. As such, we promote your business in our printed materials as well as in our recognition of your support on race day.
There are several levels of sponsorship available, with the benefits as follows:
|$300 and over||Your logo on runner t-shirts, race brochure and race program|
|$125-$299||Your logo on race brochure and race program|
|$ 75-$124||Your name on race brochure and race program|
The Run for the Roses’ reputation as a unique area race is well established. It has become a popular and eagerly anticipated annual event, attracting many enthusiastic runners and walkers and raising much-needed funds for Grafton Community Library. The 5K race is challenging yet offers runners of all skill levels a beautiful race course through scenic Grafton Lakes State Park, and the surrounding area. The children’s one-mile Fun Run emphasizes participation rather than competition. The scenic nature walk offers an enjoyable opportunity for those who want to participate at a somewhat slower pace!
Awards are presented at the finish line immediately following the race. Re-refreshments are provided and showers are located near the finish line. The Park offers beach and picnic facilities–plan on staying all day!
